Mindful Media Week
October 26–30, 2026
Mindful Media Week’s goal is to help families navigate our world of evolving technologies and ever-increasing access to screens. Students K-5 may receive short, grade-appropriate lessons following the district's scope and sequence for lessons on media. Topics may include Smartphones & Tablets, Gaming, Cyberbullying, and Livestreaming.
Visit the Parenting & More section on the school district's website for more resources on this topic from FCUSD.
Assemblies on Thursday, October 29th
Join us for a Mindful Media Assembly in the Multipurpose Room.
We are excited to announce guest speakers: Folsom PD Officers Drew Romo and Valentin Zazhitskiy, and Christie Hirota, retired Detective from the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office Hi-Tech Crimes Task Force.
They will be discussing home Internet safety and providing great tips to parents on how we can support our children in this age of technology. There will be mature topics discussed, so please leave your children at home.
When is the right time to get your child a smartphone?
There is no right answer to this question. It varies from family to family, and child to child. If you are looking for alternatives to a regular cell phone, you can explore products from GABB, Gizmo, Bark, and many more.
If you are interested in a Tin Can phone (like a landline, but runs on Wi-Fi), you can take advantage of our school discount code for $15 off: ANDY15 – Tincan.kids
